Hello, I’m Pete!
I’m originally from near Oxford in the UK and currently based in Auckland, New Zealand. Ever since an early age, I’ve been interested in birds and was part of the local RSPB Young Ornithologists Club. Until recently it has been a side interest, one where I would stop and watch them on walks enthralled until I would realise the rest of the party had disappeared minutes previously. Photography likewise has been a passion and whilst out on walks I would shoot landscapes, macros and the wonders of nature. It wasn’t until recently that I could justify and afford to buy a good quality telephoto lens. All I can say is it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love shooting with it and ever since it has almost never been swapped off the camera.
Being in New Zealand makes photographing even more special. The number and variety of birds is tremendous and makes for some great shoots.
